CSG WRESTLING TIMELINE The first State Games in 1985 only Scholastic was conducted. In 1986 the Takedown style was added for Junior High and High School. In 1988 Freestyle and Greco were added. Note the first 3 years events were based on grade level. Since 1988 events have been based on age groupings. Iron Man Awards started in 1989 with 9 points required to earn a shirt. The Iron Man requirement was lowered to 8 points in 1992. We would also like to create an all time list for the most medals and most gold medals won in wrestling. Please submit names of wrestler who have won over 20 total medals or 10 gold medals. We would appreciate if medals could be broken down by gold-silver-bronze and year by year. Craig Hellwege |
